TEAMBUILDING USING
GROUP CHALLENGE

Physical Setting: Outdoor, preferably

Basic Premise:

We have found it beneficial for colleagues to participate in programs outside of their usual physical work environment. The change of scene often elicits creativity and mutual understanding that drives productivity and group efficiency.

In this program, this change of venue is coupled with team challenges. A course is set which provides mental and low-impact physical challenges that the team must solve. These challenges range from 5 to 25 minutes each and are completed with participation from the entire group. The events are designed to illuminate issues from the workplace such as:

  • Leadership roles
  • Planning and strategy
  • Multi-tasking and re-acting to new information
  • Communication techniques
  • Trust

This provides an opportunity for participants to switch from their traditional role on the job and see their colleagues do the same. The program is particularly effective as a teambuilding tool, when new hires are involved, or when people do not know each other outside of their work environment.
